Navar's UX Evaluation

Redefining Navar’s Onboarding and User Flow: Simplifying the First Experience

UX/UI User Interviews Prototyping Usability Testing AI-First Product

As part of my UX/UI bootcamp in August 2024, I conducted a UX evaluation for Navar, a platform developed by 55 BirchStreet, a business consultancy in Germany. 55 BirchStreet specializes in providing strategic insights and operational support to enterprises, and they created Navar as a tool to help businesses navigate complex decision-making processes through expert-driven recommendations.

One of the main usability issues I uncovered was Navar’s onboarding process—it was confusing and unclear, especially for users unfamiliar with the platform. During user interviews with the 55 BirchStreet team and new users, I found that many struggled to understand what Navar does and what to expect from the platform. The lack of proper guidance led to frustration and drop-offs early in the experience.

I focused on streamlining the onboarding flow to make it more intuitive and user-friendly. I redesigned the experience to clarify Navar’s value proposition upfront, introduce key features progressively, and guide users through a structured flow that reduced frustration for the new user. Through UX research, usability testing, and prototyping, I developed a more effective onboarding experience that helped new users quickly grasp Navar’s purpose and functionality, improving engagement and retention.
